We can help with your Adverse Event application to MPI
If your registered Post-1989 forest has been damaged by Cyclone Gabrielle (or other natural events since 1st January 2023) and the forest can be re-established, you may be able to pause your carbon accounting obligations by applying for a temporary adverse event suspension. If approved, this means the area of forest will not earn carbon credits until it returns to the pre-event carbon stock, but equally there would be no surrender requirements either (MPI Notice, 2nd March 2023). If you need help defining damaged areas and planning re-planting, we can conduct a targeted drone survey and discuss your options with you. Each situation will be different. With accurate information, we can recommend the best recovery option for your carbon forest.
